Season 2 - Episode 21 - My Drama Queen
Carla and Turk are preparing for their wedding. Carla would really like a big, expensive wedding, but realizes that she may have to settle for something a little smaller because of their budget constraints. Later, Carla shocks everyone with the news that her mother has died.
After the funeral, Carla is left feeling out of sorts, so she tells Turk that she wants to get married right away instead of waiting. The hospital chapel is the only location available on short notice. The ceremony looks like the surroundings that it?s happening in - cold, sterile and impersonal. Elliot?s scrubs are spattered with blood, J.D. is wearing the shorts that the Janitor?s wife made out of his scrubs and Dr. Cox is pre-occupied with hospital paper work. The chaplain even forgets Carla?s name.
Thinking back to what Carla said earlier in the week - that she wanted a big, beautiful wedding - Turk stops to tell her that she doesn?t really want to do this. He thinks that she is rushing the wedding in response to her mother?s death. So, the wedding is postponed.
Now that J.D. and Jamie (Amy Smart) can see each other openly, their relationship doesn?t have the same spark. J.D., and even Elliot, are starting to notice a pattern with Amy. Drama or conflict, whether it?s arguing or tying J.D. to the bed, gets her really excited, which makes their sex life very exciting. But when the drama isn?t there, they don?t have a lot to talk about.
When J.D. points this out to her, Jamie is a little taken aback. But, after thinking about it, she realizes that it?s true and makes a decision to change. Their next get together is nice, quiet and drama free.
Dr. Kelso is getting excited but for completely different reasons. He wants the doctors to stop talking so openly with the patients, inviting lawsuits at every turn. He has Dr. Cox run a seminar on doctor-patient relations.
